Saffron Berry is the Generation 3 heir of the Not So Berry Challenge. She was the only child of Scarlett Berry and Kiyoshi Ito, and the mother of Ashe Berry, the Generation 4 heir.
Description[]
Saffron grew up in the White House with her mum, Scarlett Berry, and her dad, Kiyoshi Ito, because Scarlett was the Sim President. However, since her mum was so busy, she was mainly raised by her maternal grandma, Minze Berry. She is the heir of the Not So Berry Challenge's third generation: Yellow.
She has yellow-blonde hair and reddish-brown eyes, because each generation inherits their eye colour of the previous generation's colour theme. Saffron has a bit of a "grandma chic"/bohemian style mix, but isn't overly bothered with makeup or fashion. She's much more focused on intellectual and scientific pursuits. Saffron has some Japanese heritage from her father Kiyoshi, but she's not very in-touch with her Mt. Komorebi roots.

Toddlerhood[]
Saffron aged up with the Inquisitive trait since she would grow up to be a very intelligent person. She dressed in all yellow, since that was her generation's colour. Minze, her grandma, came over every day to take care of Saffron, teaching her skills and playing with her. Saffron was very close to her Minze, closer than she was to anyone else.
Childhood[]
Saffron aged up in Episode 21 of the Rose season of the Not So Berry Challenge with the Loner trait and the Whiz Kid aspiration. Minze, her grandma, spent every day with her, homeschooling her and fostering her love of space. They were best friends. Sadly, Minze died of old age a few days before Saffron's birthday. Shortly after that, Saffron's maternal grandfather, Christopher Lannister, died as well. Due to the challenge, Saffron couldn't make friends with anyone until her grandmother died.
Teenhood[]
Saffron aged up into a teenager a few days after Minze died, and attended public high school for the first time. She was seen as invisible at school, but she enjoyed that because she was a loner.
Saffron befriended her maternal aunt, Emilee Lannister, but they had more of a cousin-like relationship because they were the same age. They also shared an interest in scientific exploration. Emilee helped Saffron build her rocket, and they finished it together. Saffron did make a few friends at school, but one of them texted weird and creepy things to her, which made her dislike high school even more.
After Scarlett's presidential term ended, the family moved to Mt. Komorebi, where Scarlett and Kiyoshi first met. Kiyoshi was happy to be back where he grew up, but Saffron wasn't happy about the change. Her parents got married in an intimate backyard wedding, and she made two new friends at school, Elissa and Jennifer, but Mt. Komorebi didn't feel like home to her.
Sadly, the family dog Dilbert passed away, which was especially hard on Kiyoshi. But few days before her birthday, Saffron adopted a new pet, a white Persian kitten whom she named Laika, after the first dog to go into space.
Adulthood[]
As soon as Saffron aged up into a young adult, she moved out to Oasis Springs, where she built her own tiny house on the lot where the Landgraabs originally lived. She joined the Astronaut career, and spent her days collecting rocks, harvesting plants, gardening, woodworking, and doing whatever she could to afford a rocket ship.
Because she worked so hard, Emilee convinced Saffron to spend the weekend in Sulani with her. Saffron also began to spend a bit more time with her old high school friends, Jennifer and Elissa. However, Jennifer began to tease Saffron about her appearance, so the girls stopped hanging out with her.
Elissa had a crush on Saffron, and even though Saffron didn't like her in return, she put a lot of effort into their relationship. Elissa even spent 1,000 of her own simoleons so Saffron could begin building her rocket. Saffron was also able to max her Handiness skill, which meant she could visit the secret lot in Oasis Springs: the Forgotten Grotto. After Rose (Emilee's sister and Saffron's aunt) died, Saffron brought Emilee there, and it eventually became their special place.
Saffron visited her grandma Minze's old house in order to collect some of her scientific equipment. With it, Saffron was able to build a satellite dish to contact aliens, and lots of other inventions. She finally was able to travel to Sixam, and on her second visit, she met an alien named Vaiv'an Avos. They immediately had a romantic connection and flirted a lot, although Saffron still spent lots of time collecting and harvesting everything she could find. But meeting Vaiv'an made Saffron question if she should report her findings.
She decided to keep her discoveries and her relationship with Vaiv'an a secret, but worked on building a wormhole generator so that he could visit her. She visited Sixam whenever she could, and that was where they shared their first kiss. She also baked him sugar cookies and tried to teach him about "human" sims. When Saffron finished the wormhole generator, she brought Vaiv'an to the Forgotten Grotto where no one could see him. But the bacteria in the air was dangerous for him, and he couldn't stay for very long. He and Saffron WooHooed in a decontamination shower, but they took no precautions since Saffron didn't think humans and aliens could reproduce. However, Saffron did get pregnant from the encounter. She had a daughter named Ashe Berry, whose alien-y features Saffron would have to hide.
Saffron spent as much time as she could at work and just sent Ashe to stay with Emilee, since she couldn't go to daycare (she was blue as a baby). When Ashe aged up, Saffron decorated her bedroom with an intense space theme. Saffron kept working hard and got promoted to Level 9 of the Astronaut career: Sheriff of the Stars. She spent a weekend in Sulani with Emilee and her friend Elissa, but got back to work the second she got home. Due to her interest in science, Saffron didn't object when Ashe brought home a baby raccoon. She viewed it as an excellent opportunity to study the domestication process of wild animals.
Saffron kept grinding to max her Fitness skill and get her final promotion, which meant she didn't spend much time with her daughter. There just weren't enough hours in the day. And though she was upset that Ashe hated everything space- and alien-related, and preferred to play sports, she still set up a basketball court for her. After reaching Level 10 of the Fitness skill, Saffron didn't get her final promotion, but she was in a perfect position to get it on her next day of work.
A Little Bit Older, A Little Bit Wiser[]
Saffron aged up into an elder in Grey: Episode 1. Because she had such fair hair in her younger years, it became white when she got old. Shortly after she aged up, Saffron reached Level 10 of the Astronaut career, thereby finishing the Yellow Generation of the Not So Berry Challenge.
When Ashe aged up and moved to San Myshuno, Saffron helped her get settled in her apartment, and they spent the day exploring the city together. Sadly, Saffron died of old age a few days later.

- Saffron was originally named Primrose until Clare was reminded that Primrose Collins-Johnson from her former Eco Lifestyle series already had that name.
- Saffron's hairstyle as a teenager is the same style her mother Scarlett had when she first went to university.
- She is the first sim to have never made friends as a child (due to the challenge rules).
- She is the first sim to be best friends with a grandparent.
- Saffron is the second (non-alien) character to have a child with an alien, but the first to do so intentionally.
- The first was Connor Callery-Aiken - he and Elisha Black autonomously tried for a baby in a bush.
- Saffron is the first Not So Berry Challenge sim to have never gotten married.
- Saffron was the first mixed race Heir, being half Japanese, half White
