Pearla Goldsmith is one of the four young children of Tiana. She was originally named "Louis" because Clare wanted a boy. She also started to live in the basement because Clare wanted the boy upstairs. The name "Pearla" means "precious" in Latin, which is ironic considering her parents care more about her brother.
